Therapy for Anxiety, Grief, Health Concerns, Caregiver Burnout & Life Transitions
Are you struggling with overwhelming feelings in an already overwhelming world? Stress, anxiety, and depression are intense experiences that can be amplified by life’s circumstances, often interfering with your ability to function and feel like yourself. When the weight of trauma or burnout feels too heavy to carry alone, therapy offers a place where you can be truly understood, heard, and supported.
I’m Dr. Samantha Lebo (she/her), a postdoctoral fellow with an emphasis in health psychology. I help clients in New York navigate the complexities of their mental and physical well-being. Whether you are facing a new health diagnosis, grieving a profound loss, or simply feeling stuck in a cycle of exhaustion, I strive to create a collaborative, non-judgmental, and safe space where you can begin to heal.
How I Can Help
I work with individuals navigating a wide range of concerns, including:
Anxiety and Depression
Grief and Prolonged Grief (Specialized research focus)
Caregiver Fatigue and Professional BurnoutÂ
Health Concerns and Lifestyle Changes (Sleep, habit formation, chronic illness)
Memory and Cognitive ConcernsÂ
Trauma-Informed Care and Race-Based TraumaÂ
Identity Stress and LGBTQIA+ Affirming CareÂ
Life TransitionsÂ
My aim is to help you navigate these difficult experiences while working toward better health, improved mood, and a greater sense of agency in your life.
My Approach to Therapy
I provide evidence-based therapy tailored to your unique history and goals. My approach is collaborative and empowering, drawing from several therapeutic modalities:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Â
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)Â
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)Â
Mindfulness PracticesÂ
Motivational Interviewing and Safety PlanningÂ
My work is centered on making every individual feel welcome and supported in a time where it is very easy to feel isolated. I am honored to sit with clients from diverse backgrounds and welcome conversations about the intersections of identity, culture, race, gender, and religion. Clients often describe me as kind, empowering, and challenging in ways that help them reach their personal goals.
Specialized Focus: Health & Aging
With a doctoral emphasis in Health, Rehabilitation, and Primary Care and a specialized focus on Geropsychology, I have extensive experience working at the intersection of physical and mental health. My doctoral dissertation focused on the prolonged grief experiences of families separated during the COVID-19 pandemic, giving me a deep clinical understanding of bereavement and complex loss .
